Anyone who can ad lib and not pass out from fright is my hero. Well, maybe not anyone, but darned close. Well done! In not giving us your homily of that day, you gave us another. Thank you.

I am always the Mary kicking against the goad of a Martha who thinks Mary is less important. The Martha of us is incredibly important, I know this as a Martha -- things just don't happen without our Martha-ing, but the Mary of us wants to know, with every fiber of her being, Why we do anything. Mary will Martha for any reason needed, but she really wants to make it pure-- wants to do it all for Love. Or so it seems to me.

"Thank God that I had good material." :) I wonder if Jesus ever said that to His beloved John after the crowds dissipated.
