« Christianity American Style | Main | Eight Year Old Autistic Student Arrested »

January 19, 2009

In looking extensively in the MLK, Jr. section of YouTube, I came across many of his speeches. What an orator! In one, he mentions that he has looked over the mountain, and has seen the Promised Land (for America). You know, I'd forgotten we once had a hope of a better life for all. Americans first, but also others. And the last speech he gave was prophetic, insofar as saying, "I may not get to that day with you.." Well, not even his wife made it to this historic inauguration, but I think he foresaw even more: True brotherly love. That was, after all, Christ's new and final commandment.

Nice reflection, DDW.

It's certainly a challenge, and I like the way you have included rather than excluded - t's not them and us, two separate groups, it's all of us together building, constructing and creating a kingdom of peace.
